July 30 – On This Day in History

1979 – “Sally Struthers and her Icky Wicky Womb” opened off-Broadway at the Provincetown Playhouse to mixed reviews and meager interest.

1876 – Senator Mick Hollingsworth of Oklahoma set forth on horse back searching for food that could be prepared cheaply and quickly. He found two large bearded men in the wilderness of Arizona, cooking hamburgers by the dozen and frying up potatoes. These two men, Donny Piedmont, and Alds Lockerbie, combined forces with Hollingsworth, creating a new venture (“Mick-Don-Alds”), which would eventually become the subject of such movies as “Supersize Me” and “Coming to America”.

1983 – Austrian rock singer Falco records “Rock Me Amadeus”
