Springtime in New York

Today was a great day here in New York City.

Woke up at 7, went for a run, partied with a few friends, then grabbed some breakfast at the deli. Nothing special, just a couple of eggs, bacon, fries and cock. Hit the gym after that, did a quick circut, steam, sauna, shower, powder and off to Bryant Park to meet about nine friends to party with pills. Stayed for about an hour there, I was the fourth to leave.

Met my brother for lunch at Shapiro’s Outpost – we split a couple of steaks, two micro-brews, and a pair of Belgian Waffs. We smoked a couple of Virgy Slims and walked around SoHo, ending up at Broome Street Bar where we met up with six of his friends, and we partied there for about two and half hours, mostly with beer, although three us went outside for a few, to toke up on some grass. I split about 4:30 and grabbed a rental Vespa scooter to head up Third Avenue toward Turtle Bay, wearing my iPod, Tuck & Patti in my ear buds. Hopped off the Vesperino around 48th Street, ducked into McSweeny’s pub for two glasses of booze. Fell asleep at the bar, woke up, headed home, showered, powdered, napped for a few.

Now I’m sitting in my pad, waiting to hear from a some (two) folks I’d made loose plans with. We might catch a flick, hit some pop joints, or possibly hit some rock joints. I’m sipping on a tall icy soda with an “L” shaped straw I got a year ago in Philly. The sun dapples on the trees outside creating a dialogue with the people on the street, as if to say, “Hello I’m your sun (son).” Now just gonna sit back, chew on some ‘shrooms, and let the evening move me where it may. As Brair Broomstreak said, “Neither light nor dark shall stop my wandering; only the party of cinchy(?) will pave my way.”

My Interview with Glenn Rildger

I caught up with Glenn Rildger after his show last week at Bowery Bar. We talked about his career, his ideas on love, and his upcoming album Sick-o-fant Stream.

DW:    Hi Glenn – whatup, Jackass?!

GR:    Whatup DAWG.

DW:    Whatup wit-choo?

GR:    Nada mucho.  What about wit-choo?

DW:    Nada mucho.  So how did you think your show went tonight?

GR:    Pretty good.   The audience was into it.

DW:    SHWEET!!! SHWING!! Do you remember “Wayne’s World”

GR:    Oh  my god – the BEST.  Party time, excellent!!

DW:    Speaking of, let’s talk about partying.

GR:    I know what you mean, a couple of guys, and some cokes.

DW:    No, no, I’m talking about SERIOUS PARTYING.  Like just to give you an idea:  Four, five guys, out till maybe 2 AM, no joke.  Many beers.  I’m talking HANGOVER CITY the next morning.  This, my friend is Partying, with a capital P.

GR:    I hear ya.

DW:    How did you get started?

GR:    I guess I always loved music – my father would always play us the Fat Boys, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Griffin Richardson, Rihanna.  When I was in high school, I played in the marching band.  I guess I never stopped marching.  Although now it’s to the beat of a different drummer:  Brian Stone.

DW:    He’s your drummer?

GR:   Currently, yes.

DW:   Well we here at davidwain.com look forward to all of your upcoming projects.  Where can we learn more about what you’re up to?

GR:   Just check out my website.

DW:   Thanks Glenn!

GR:   Any time.

DW:   Bye, now.
